The Australian Taxation Office and Centrelink are now receiving information about all of the the online auction websites and live racing pigeon auctions across Australia, as an aid to locating and punishing those pigeon racers who choose to defraud the Commonwealth of Australia by evading income tax and by drawing Social Security payments at the same time.

I know that the majority of pigeon racers are hard working, tax payers who love their involvement in pigeon racing and who from time to time like to dispose of a few pigeons online, at open reduction sales and of course at open clearance auctions.

It is pleasing to see also that there are a few pigeon racers out there who like to take it upon themselves as good citizens, to inform the Australian Taxation Office and Centrelink, about the activities and sales of their fellow pigeon racers.

How do I know this - well it happened to me. Late in 2008, my home was raided by Centrelink Investigators, who searched my home and took away everything that I had in my possesion to do with pigeons and selling pigeons, including my computers (they deleted every pedigree and pigeon record that I had). I might add that at that time I was receiving a pharmaceutical benefit from Centrelink which gave me discounted medicines.

Also at this time, the accountant of my family's business was served with notices from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), advising of an impending audit of the activities of the business, which they did do shortly thereafter.

To cut a long story short, despite my initial shock, I had nothing to worry about - two complete investigations into my activities were thoroughly checked by two different federal government departments came up with nothing, which I always knew that they would.

What irks me the most is the accuracy of the true parts of the details which were made to the investigators by an anonymous informer. It would have taken somebody who was very, very close to me to provide such details. Of course the bullshit parts were laughable.

There are jealous people everywhere, but to concoct a litany of absolute lies about my private business and my personal family circumstances is beyond my comprehension.

As a result of somebody who was clearly a fellow pigeon racer informing the ATO and Centrelink of my supposed illegal activities, I have now decided to inform both the ATO and Centrelink about every pigeon auction that I become aware of. I am now the supergrass of pigeon racing!

I presently subscribe to both Australian magazines, I am a member of the three racing pigeon forums and I am a member of all of the pigeon auction websites in Australia.

Take notice pigeon racers of Australia - I have begun to supply the details of the vendor of each pigeon sale that is openly advertised in the fancy press and on any website, to both the Australian Taxation Office and to Centrelink.

It is only fair that I do this - because I want to be as upstanding and self-righteous as the person who informed on me.
